Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Action Around Autos (actionaroundautos.com) publishes automotive guidance for readers in the United States and abroad. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who else can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Information you give us
You can read every article on this site without giving us anything. We only receive personal information when you hand it over. That happens in three places: the contact form, the newsletter signup form, and comments if you leave one.
The contact form collects your name, email address, subject category, and message. The newsletter form collects a first name, last name, and email address. We use that information to answer you or to send the emails you asked for. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard log data when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use this to keep the site working, spot abuse, and understand which guides readers find useful.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. We use them in three ways. Strictly necessary cookies keep basic site functions working. Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which pages get read. Advertising cookies may be set by our ad server to control how often an ad shows and to measure whether it performed.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse third party cookies while keeping first party ones. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the site, though some features may behave differently.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, session length, approximate location derived from IP address, and device type. Google processes that data on our behalf. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
Revive Adserver and advertising
Advertising slots on this site are served through Revive Adserver. The ad server may set cookies to limit repeat impressions and to record clicks. Individual advertisers or their networks may also set their own cookies through the creative they supply. We do not control those third party cookies, and we do not receive the personal data they collect.
We do not knowingly serve targeted advertising to children. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not share your contact form or newsletter details with advertisers.
Newsletter and email
Our newsletter is delivered through a third party email platform. That platform stores the name and email address you submit, and records standard email metrics such as opens and clicks. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from future sends and we do not add you back without a new signup.
Third party links
We link out to manufacturers, government sites, insurers, research bodies, and other publications. Once you follow a link, you are on their site under their policy, not ours. We are not responsible for how other sites handle your information. Read their policies before submitting anything.
Data retention
Contact form messages are kept as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of corrections, then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs and analytics data are retained on standard schedules and then aged out.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Readers in California, the European Union, and the United Kingdom have specific statutory rights of this kind.
To make a request, use the contact page and choose the General subject. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting, and we will respond inside the timeframe the applicable law requires.
Children
This site is written for adults making vehicle decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on the page itself.
